Make a ZIP smaller. First every file inside is repacked with maximum compression, which is lossless. If that still isn't under the size you asked for and the ZIP holds photos, those photos are re-encoded just as much as needed to reach your target. The result is a normal ZIP that opens anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Enter the size you want and the tool gets as close to it as possible without going over. For files that can't be squeezed that far (see below) it makes the smallest version it can.

Files that are already compressed - JPEG photos, PDFs, videos, music, other ZIPs - have a floor below which they can't shrink without throwing away data. No tool (and no AI) can beat that. ZIPs of documents, text, Excel or bitmap images shrink a lot more.

Only if needed. Repacking is lossless. Photos are re-encoded to a lower quality only when that's the only way to reach the target you set - and only as much as needed.
