The short version

  • You don't need an account, and we never ask for your name or email address.
  • Your files are used only to run the tool you chose, then deleted.
  • The site itself sets no tracking cookies. We are adding Google AdSense ads; when ads are shown, Google may use advertising cookies — see section 6.
  • We count page visits and tool uses without storing your IP address.

This policy explains what happens to your files and information when you use GaneshEdit ("the site", "we"). The site is run by Krishna.

1. Files you upload

When you use a tool, your file is sent to our server so the tool can process it. It is used for that purpose only. Nobody looks at your files, and they are never used to train any software or service.

  • Deleted after processing. For most tools, the file you upload and the result are deleted from the server as soon as your result is ready, before it is sent back to you.
  • Tasks with more than one step. Some tools need the file to stay on the server between steps - for example while you pick pages, edit or sign a document, or before you download a repaired file. These files are kept only until you finish, and anything left behind (say, if you close the tab halfway) is deleted automatically within 6 hours.
  • Video, audio and image tools never upload. The video and audio tools and every image tool (such as Compress Image, Convert Image and Photos to Video) do all their work inside your browser. Your photos, videos and music never reach our server; we only receive the name of the tool when a job finishes, so it can be counted.
  • Previews stay on your device. On many tools, the page preview you see after choosing a file is created by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded until you press the tool's button.

Files up to 50 MB are accepted. Please don't upload documents you aren't allowed to share.

2. What we record

To understand which tools are useful, the site keeps a simple count in its own database on our server:

  • Page visits: which page was opened, and when.
  • Tool uses: which tool was used, when, and the visitor's country (for example "IN").

We do not store your IP address, your file names, or the contents of your files in these records. There are no third-party analytics or tracking scripts on the site.

3. Services that help run the site

A few outside services are involved in running the site. Each receives only what is described here:

  • Render hosts the site. Like any web host, it handles every request, including your IP address, and may keep standard server logs.
  • MaxMind tells us which country a visitor is in. When you complete a tool, your IP address may be sent to MaxMind's GeoLite service to look up the country. We keep only the country code, not the IP address.
  • Document-processing service providers. Some tools use trusted third-party processing services to read documents accurately - for example text in Hindi and other non-Latin scripts, or scanned pages. For that purpose only, parts of your document (text, or an image of a page) may be sent securely to such a provider. They process it on our behalf, may not use it for anything else or to train their own products, and it is not kept by us after your result is ready.
  • jsDelivr and cdnjs deliver some of the code libraries the pages use (such as the page layout and the Word document preview). As with any website resource, they receive your IP address when your browser loads them.
  • File-delivery services also deliver the background remover that Remove Background downloads the first time you use it. Your photo is not sent anywhere; these services receive only your IP address, as with any download.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The site itself does not set tracking cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's own storage so the site remembers it next time. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings. Remove Background also keeps its downloaded background remover in your browser's storage, so it doesn't have to be downloaded again; it contains no information about you. The admin area (not used by visitors) sets one sign-in cookie for the site owner only.

Advertising cookies are a separate matter, described in section 6.

5. Payments

The site does not take payments at the moment, and it never asks for card or bank details. If a paid option is added in future, payments will be handled by a licensed payment gateway: your card, UPI or bank details would be entered on the gateway's own secure page and never stored by us. This policy will be updated first to explain exactly what is shared. Refunds and cancellations are explained in our refund & cancellation policy.

6. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We are adding advertising to help keep the tools free. Ads are served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also be used; their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies, and Google's use is governed by the Google advertising policies.

This site does not control these advertising cookies. If you are in a region that requires consent (such as the EU), a consent prompt is shown before personalised ads are served.

7. Your rights and choices

Because the site has no accounts and doesn't store information that identifies you, there is normally nothing held about you to access or delete. Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent you gave - this covers rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU and UK GDPR, and US state privacy laws such as California's CCPA. We do not sell personal information. Write to us using the details below and we will reply within 30 days.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before any personalised ads are shown, and can change that choice at any time from the same message.

8. Children

The site is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles your information changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change.
