SSC changed how photos work: instead of uploading a saved photo, the application form takes a live photo through your webcam or phone camera. The signature is still uploaded as a scanned file, and that is where most rejections happen.

The live photo

You still need a properly sized passport photo for many other forms - the Photo & Signature Resizer handles those.

The signature, step by step

  1. Sign in your normal handwriting on plain white paper - not in capital letters.
  2. Photograph or scan it in good light.
  3. Open the resizer set to the SSC signature, crop tightly around the signature and tick "Clean the paper".
  4. Download - the file is saved at 315 × 157 px (4.0 × 2.0 cm at 200 DPI) between 10 and 20 KB.

A blurred, tiny or faint signature is rejected, so crop close to the ink before resizing.
